The Truth About Hubpages - Can You Make Money From Hubs?

If you are reading this article, you are either already writing articles on hubpages or you are considering whether you should sign up. If your sole motivation is to make money from hubpages, turn back now! If you were lured to hubpages by one of the many scam artists on the Internet, promising you "amazing google AdSense payouts" or one of the many "FIRE YOUR BOSS!", "EARN $$$$ WRITING ARTICLES!" or "MAKE $1000's WITH ADSENSE!" ebooks that cost you $49.95, I feel it is my duty to tell you that all these claims are but an illusion. The best thing you can do is go back to whichever scum sucker sold you an ebook full of lies and demand a refund, if you are smart you will always use paypal or some other third party payment company to make purchases online, as at least you will have payment protection on your less than business savvy purchases! Now you may think that I am pouring scorn onto these people who have been scammed by these useless ebooks, but in fact I was once one of you and I know exactly how it feels to be cheated out of my hard earned money! The fact is, if you are writing hubs or lenses on squidoo or any enzine that uses adsense as a revenue generator just to make money, you are wasting your time, read on.....

So you think you can knock up an article in a half an hour, add a few pictures or videos, tag your article with high paying keywords, publish it and wait for your adsense checks to roll in. There are a few flaws in this plan, first, you have to be capable of writing an interesting, structured and reader-worthy article, this is not as easy as it may seem. If you are trying to compete with all the other 1000's of articles on the web on the same subject, you have to be good! There are real bona fida writers on these sites writing articles to the highest standard, on subjects that they have expert knowledge on and truth be known, a lot of these writers would do this for free! So there you are at your pc trying to make money with substandard writing, putting all your eggs in the adsense basket! If only things were that simple.

Hubpage articles high page ranking will fool you into believing that if you just get your articles out there with the high paying keywords, you will get lots of traffic and interested readers to your articles, and by the laws of averages you will get enough of these readers clicking on your adsense ads, and so you will generate a nice income. Wrong! If you write an article, it will be promptly indexed by google and you probably will get a lot of traffic to your page but if you check your stats for every article you will see that most of you readers are fellow hubbers, and 9 times out of 10 hubbers do not click on ads! We are not here looking for google AdSense products or services, but for reading, writing and if we are extremely lucky, making a few cents with our revenue capsules along the way! You would need millions of unique visitors from sources other than hubpages, with a fair percentage who are actually looking for a product or service if you are to convert clicks into cash. Well established websites with excellent quality content and regular traffic struggle to make a lot of money from adsense, so how is a humble hubber supposed to succeed?!

The whole point of hubpages is to deliver informative articles for interested readers but with so many hubbers writing for profit only, its turning into something quite different. Hubpages used to be full of excellent articles with the opportunity to make some extra money, but now it's viewed more like a money making tool with a bit of writing thrown in to fill the space. What people fail to realize it that if keeps going this way, google will stop giving articles such high page ranking thus wiping out any opportunity for anyone to make money from hubs or even reach interested readers. So if I can put it another way, to all who intend to use hubpages as an easy cash generator. "don't fill hubpages with useless, keyword laden articles in a futile attempt to become an adsense success story, it ain't going to work!", for those of you who have been misled by the adsense revenue claims and ripped off in the process, give hubpages a go, write informative content and try to earn a little extra money if you can, and for those of you who write excellent content, give great advice and make hubpages a pleasure to write for, keep up the good work!
